History

 

In 2014, biotech companies were moving in droves from LA to San Francisco because they couldn't find lab space in LA. At that time, the existing biotech incubators in the region were full. From the frustration of losing clients and local innovation over such a basic necessity, Lab Launch was born. 

​

Now, 9 years after its inception, Lab Launch has supported over 40 companies that have raised more than $810M in total. Many of our graduates remain in the Los Angeles area and are still growing.

In 2018 we began partnering with organizations to help them open their own shared lab spaces. We helped University Lab Partners to design, equip, and develop operating procedures for their biotech and medtech incubator in Irvine, which opened its doors in late 2019.

In 2023 we proudly opened our second facility, Lab Launch@ATX, a space designed for growing companies who need rapid access, flexible terms, and support services.
